Review and respond / Understand health and coverage

Read the outcome and the coverage together

A site can have a genuine failure, a finding that needs human review, or insufficient monitoring evidence. The explanation matters more than the color of its status.

  • Critical: investigate likely business impact, such as an unreachable site or a broken important function.
  • Needs review: inspect the finding and decide whether it is expected or needs a change.
  • Missing, stale, or degraded coverage: MetricPoints could not obtain enough current proof. Restore monitoring before relying on that area.
  • Healthy evidence: current checks support their monitored areas. This does not prove every possible visitor journey works.

Check the evidence time

In Health, use Checks and timing to see the last completed result and estimated next check. A scheduled check has not yet produced proof. Earlier failures and recovered events remain in Activity without automatically becoming current problems.

When Cloudflare or another firewall blocks a check

A challenge that prevents browser verification is shown as degraded coverage. It does not by itself establish that normal visitors cannot use the site. Review the blocked request and check the site's firewall logs. Genuine page or business-function failures remain actionable even if challenge requests are also present.

Monitoring IP addresses can help your administrator review access. Creating a Cloudflare connection does not automatically allow monitoring through a challenge.

When browser or WordPress evidence is missing

Check whether the source is expected in Settings → Evidence sources, then check installation, consent, and the most recent delivery. Only mark sources optional when they are genuinely outside your intended monitoring coverage. Compare evidence sources.
