Checkout failures

Checkout failure monitoring for stores your agency keeps online

A store can look open, return HTTP 200, and still fail to take payment. MetricPoints watches the public path and, when you connect them, the browser errors and WordPress signals around that failure.

A loaded checkout page is not a sale

Uptime on the homepage or the checkout URL only proves that a response came back. The failure is often a script, a content-security policy block, a plugin update, or a payment step that never finishes. A configured journey can walk the path you choose. Browser evidence, when the beacon is enabled, shows the JavaScript error on that page.

MetricPoints does not place live orders on a client’s production store as part of ordinary monitoring. An explicitly enabled staging test-order check can ask the plugin whether WooCommerce recorded a paid order. That result includes status and time, not the customer or the order key.

Put the failure in the portfolio

One broken checkout matters. Several client stores failing together can be a shared server, a plugin update, or a payment provider change. The portfolio is where those observations meet, so the agency sees the pattern instead of waiting for the first client to call.

  • Public monitoring starts without installing the plugin.
  • WooCommerce context is optional evidence from the WordPress plugin.
  • The incident should still be explainable when the checkout URL itself returned 200.
