WP Umbrella

WP Umbrella maintains WordPress. MetricPoints watches whether the site works.

WP Umbrella is a WordPress maintenance platform: updates, uptime, security, and client reporting for the sites an agency already runs on WordPress. MetricPoints is not that product. It answers a later question: is the client site still doing its job?

Keep the maintenance tool

If the agency’s work is applying updates, watching WordPress uptime, and sending a maintenance report, WP Umbrella is built for that work. MetricPoints does not bulk-update plugins, and it should not be bought as a WordPress manager.

The overlap is the client relationship. A finished update and a green uptime check can still leave a broken form or a checkout that returns HTTP 200. That is the failure MetricPoints is for, and it includes client sites that are not WordPress.

  • Use WP Umbrella when the job is WordPress maintenance.
  • Use MetricPoints when the job is knowing a client site is broken before the client calls.
  • Many agencies will use both. They are not substitutes.

A maintenance report can stay green

A care-plan report can list the updates that ran and an uptime percentage for the month. That report can still hide the three days the contact form thanked visitors and delivered nothing. MetricPoints is the record of that gap: the check, the incident, and the recovery, including for client sites that are not in the WordPress maintenance tool.
