ManageWP
ManageWP runs the WordPress work. MetricPoints finds the broken client site.
ManageWP is a dashboard for managing WordPress: updates, backups, uptime, and client access. MetricPoints does not take that job. It watches whether the public site, and the business path on it, still works.
Do not swap a manager for a monitor
If the agency needs to update plugins, store backups, and log in to many wp-admins from one place, that is ManageWP’s work. MetricPoints can record backup evidence and restore-test age as health signals. It does not store the backup, and it does not apply the update.
The reason to add MetricPoints is the failure a management dashboard leaves green: the form that thanks the visitor, the checkout that returns 200, and the client sites that are not WordPress at all.
- Use ManageWP to manage WordPress.
- Use MetricPoints to find a broken client site before the client does.
- Backup evidence in MetricPoints is a check, not a backup product.
The question after the update
ManageWP can apply the update and keep the backup. The question left is whether the public site still does its job. A homepage that returns HTTP 200 does not answer it. Form checks, checkout paths, and the incident that follows are the handoff from a management dashboard to MetricPoints.
